Bio

A native of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, John has always been heavily influenced by music. Early on, his parents realized that John had a natural born talent and ear for music when he began singing in a clear even-pitched voice at the age of 3. By 6 he was playing songs on the piano, spending hours playing along to his favorite bands like Supertramp and ELO. At 12, John began playing guitar and joined the first of many rock bands throughout his teens.

Once out of school, John began to work at a material handling company until the day he was involved in a near fatal automobile accident. After his recovery, he returned to his passion and love – music, and joined the Hamilton-based classic rock band Sarasin, performing to loyal fans across southern Ontario.

In the mid 90s, John directed his energy to songwriting and began composing and recording original music. During the day he worked in the neurosurgery field (assisting in over 250 brain surgeries across Canada) affording John the opportunity to produce his first solo CD called “John Burns Out” recorded at Kensington and Metalworks studios in Toronto.

Today, John owns a software development company and continues to write and record music, and performs with the Pink Floyd tribute band called, Think Freud, as well as a The Guess Who™ / BTO tribute band called No Sugar Tonight.

John's original CD is available on iTunes.
